Not all roofs are suitable for loft conversions, some may require extra structural work to enable the appropriate head height or to avoid ‘obstacles’ such as chimney stacks - being carpenters this is all something we are well used to dealing with and isn't a problem, so don't panic! Most loft conversions don't need planning permission, they can generally be done under ‘Permitted Development’, but they will need to adhere to specific guidelines.
